Ethereal Secret Garden at Awbury Arboretum

We’re taking a walk down memory lane to last August at Portico - Awbury Arboretum, one of our favorite Peachtree Catering venues, for the most effortlessly ethereal and chic wedding.

During the planning process, our clients Zoe and Jordan initially envisioned a crisp and classic all-white design for ceremony and reception from the bridal bouquet to the tablescape. We absolutely loved Zoe and Jordan for their no-fuss demeanor and emphasis on their love story as opposed to prioritizing the aesthetic of the day. No wedding party, no extra frills, just staying true to celebrating their love. 

As planning progressed , she leaned towards incorporating some bright summer tones to balance out the lush, wildflower aesthetic of Awbury Arboretum and their bright gardens. Captured by the insanely talented EverBe Photography, Zoe opted for a minimal and classic bridal bouquet. The only requirement was that her bouquet be all white and feature lilies, which is exactly what we gave her (it’s still one of my all-time favorites that we’ve designed). We complemented the focal lilies with airy queen anne’s lace, fluffy lisianthus, delicate sweet pea, and trailing autumn clematis to give the bouquet our signature whimsical look. 

We love that the couple opted to keep the ceremony simple and clean to let the natural space shine. We added a pop of color to the entrance of the aisle with two garden floral sprays in a lavender, purple and orange color palette for a pop of summer. All flowers and greenery used in the bright designs were locally grown by Philadelphia farmers.

The color story was carried into the reception with a minimalist design of ikebana arrangements placed down the center of each long guest table,and repurposed the ceremony floral sprays at the sweetheart table.

What we loved most about this design is that when Zoe asked for color, she left it in our hands to choose a palette that would be bright, fun, and seasonal. The floral palette ended up complimenting the other design elements of their day from candle sticks to the seating chart seamlessly.
